Wood Honeycomb Panels
Superior materials and warp-resistant engineering
-
Yes! The torsion box design is a classic piece of engineering. It’s stiff and strong in a way that normal ply-faced panels can only dream of.
We’re very proud of our next generation artist’s panel. The cross section diagram below shows how our innovative wooden panels are designed. The inner core is completely enveloped in a wooden perimeter cradle and facing sheets of high-quality birch plywood.
-
We use premium materials at every step of the way. Face and back material is of high-quality birch plywood, and the cradle of kiln-dried bass. The honeycomb core is resin-impregnated paper pulp, which bonds to the plywood skins to form a solid torsion box design. A brilliant solution to solve for stiffness and stability without compromising on weight. Even the PVA used for the lamination is specially formulated for this purpose.

From handheld delights to epic polyptychs, our panel shines as an elite, stable armature for your practice. Cores available at 48" x 96" and 60" x 120", larger sizes are of course available by seaming these together. Our expert fabricators are skilled at creating flawless seams when needed. (These core sizes are based on dimensions of plywood available). We offer 1.5” and 2” standard depths, and custom depths are available.

All standard CAS panels have an integral 30° cleat on all edges, so you can hang the work in any orientation you desire, at any point in your process.

Absolutely. Our panel is an ideal starting point for a custom shaped painting armature. It’s the stable foundation to realize your next project, no matter how wild your vision may be.
